Learn to Fly in Utah
“Wanna fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down.” -Toni Morrison
There is a lot of shit that has been weighing me down lately, but the recent death of Toni Morrison has me thinking about flight. Literal flight.
Zip Line Utah’s The Screaming Falcon, Big Line, is the longest zip line in the world over water, traversing a 3900ft lake. After jumping into a ranger and riding to the top of a peek of the Wasatch Mountains I was secured into my line. Once I passed my safety and brake test I was given the OK and a push off my post. Screaming, being in the name, was encouraged and it happened involuntarily as I flew over Deer Creek Lake’s Rainbow Bay. Flying on a zip line is something that I have wanted to do for the last 10 years and after soaring through the air on this particular line I am not sure that I can ever top the experience. It was beautiful and breathtaking.
I think that is precisely what happens when you give up the shit that weighs you down. You become light enough to fly and that is breathtakingly beautiful.
Zip Line Utah offers five tour packages for all ability levels starting at just $29 and offer the longest continuous zip line in the world - 2 full miles without touching the ground.
Go give up your shit and fly.
